Alliance 90/The Greens Saxony

The 2019 state elections in Saxony will decide the direction of democratic culture, even beyond the state's borders. There is a threat of a duel under the sign of fear between the CDU, which has been in power for 30 years, and an ambitious far-right AfD. The Greens are running to counter this - with a small state association, but all the more determined campaigners for a new political start in Saxony.

Idea

Show attitude!

We are moving away from populist competition and focusing on political content and responsible ideas for the state and all the people who live here. Instead of being anxious, we are looking to the future with confidence and making it clear that a new Saxony is possible - "You just have to vote for it."

Loud, courageous, self-confident

In line with this positive attitude, we are developing a campaign that is loud, bold and self-confident. With their bright, striking design, the posters are a highly visible eye-catcher on the street and, with the diversity of people they show, underline the green claim to answers for society as a whole. We complement the campaign with convincing materials ranging from giveaways to TV commercials, participatory events and creative activities, which can be seen from the climate demo in Dresden to the Prater in Vienna (!).

Strongest result in Saxony

With 8.6%, the Greens achieve the best result in their history - and the highest voter turnout in a state election in Saxony since 1990. For the first time, they also win three direct mandates. In the end, this was enough for the Greens to join the government: since the end of 2019, they have governed the state together with the CDU and SPD.
