Making Berlin green and fair

Time of crisis? Time for Green - and time for Bettina Jarasch in the Red City Hall. After decades of SPD and CDU leadership, Berlin now wants a mayor who is determined and full of energy to tackle the city's problems.

Large poster: A photo of Bettina Jarasch looking head-on into the camera. To her left is the headline 'Governing Berlin with new strength', above it is the sun hedgehog, below it is the claim 'Time for Jarasch'. The motif is framed by a green frame.

Election campaign under special circumstances

The special circumstances of the repeat election are also reflected in the development of the campaign, which needs to happen much faster. For the short, intensive election campaign, we are focusing on clear messages that confidently convey the Green Party's claim to government. The design underlines this with a dynamic framework and fresh colors as an antithesis to the dreary Berlin winter.

A poster hangs from a lamppost in front of the facades of houses. The picture shows a woman with her arms crossed. The headline at the bottom reads: 'Fighting hate', below which is the claim 'Time for green' and the poster is surrounded by a green frame.

Result

With just 53 (!) votes behind the SPD, the Greens narrowly miss out on second place. Even if this is not enough for a Green city hall in the end, the Greens are the only governing party to almost maintain their record result from 2021. In terms of government participation, everything therefore remains open for the time being.

The photo shows many members of the Berlin Green Party. They are standing in front of a wall with 'Green. Just. Together' can be read on it. The same can also be seen on four puzzle pieces that the people are holding up in the air.
