RECAMPAIGN
Wigwam eG

How do we bring the new digital possibilities of social media to NGOs, which often still communicate in a very traditional way? That was the question that paved the way for the first reCampaign in 2010. And because change never stands still, seven more followed until 2018, which we organized with various partners. Over the years, it has become one of the leading conferences for digital civil society.

It was relaunched in 2024, with a lot of heavy baggage from current crises and developments and even more need for action and discussion - under the motto "Progressive Alliances".

Network yourselves!

Initially docked to its big sister re:publica, reCampaign later emancipated itself and brought together 300 people from NGOs, foundations, social enterprises and the communications industry at each event. Trends and successful communication on the web were discussed for two days each time. The focus was always on sharing experiences and providing enough space to get to know each other, brainstorm ideas and make plans.

The interaction of the participants at each event was crucial for the special atmosphere at reCampaign.

The ravages of time

In terms of topics, reCampaign has continued to evolve. While the focus in 2010 was on "the best campaigns on the web", eight years later we were discussing "strategies for digital change".

We were always able to welcome exciting speakers. These included the former "Internet Ambassador" of the Federal Republic of Germany Gesche Joost, ex-Google Product Philosopher Tristan Harris, framing expert Elisabeth Wehling and Bernie Sanders advisor Becky Bond.

The reCampaign archive contains a large number of recordings, interviews and presentations of many talks and keynotes from various years.
