OKRS AS A SIGNPOST - A STRATEGY FOR ALL
LIQD - Liquid Democracy e.V.

As an association, Liquid Democracy has already gained experience with participatory strategy processes in recent years. However, the team would like our support with some questions: What are sensible time horizons? How can a distinction be made between strategic levels? How can strategy development be made as participatory as possible without losing clarity and prioritization?

Our role:
Consulting
Organizational Development

Idea

We design a process that is designed both to learn from previous strategy processes and to establish a suitable strategy framework for the future. The new framework should provide answers to the various challenges and be continuously applicable for the team, so that a strategy routine emerges that can also manage without our support.

Implementation

In a four-month process, we sort and discuss the content and methods of previous association strategies with the board and management level. Together, we identify the advantages and disadvantages of previous strategy development and, in combination with previous learnings, propose the "Objectives and Key Results" (OKR) strategy framework as a future method. In several workshops, we enable the core team to carry out and reflect on their first OKR strategy cycle together with their team.

Result

With the OKR method, the team is able to develop its association strategy in an agile and clearly defined time horizon in a participatory manner. The feedback emphasized in particular the applicability of the OKR framework in everyday life as well as our practical tips and classifications for individual questions.
