Facts about the wigwam
1st year of foundation as a UG: 2009, conversion to a cooperative: 2016
2. active members of the cooperative 2022: 25 / founding members 2016: 19
3. we work without a boss. Instead, the Executive Board manages the business, the Supervisory Board monitors and the General Assembly elects. As a cooperative, we own the Wigwam together.

We write ourselves or are happy to talk about our experiences as a communications agency and cooperative. Here is a selection of our publications.
Self-organization and cooperative
Wigwam is a "workers cooperative". This means that the members of the cooperative are the employees. A special feature of our organization is that we make full use of the cooperative's resources and at the same time closely interweave them with the methods of self-organization.
New Pay and desired salary
Since becoming a cooperative, we have paid our salaries according to the "desired salary" model that we developed ourselves. Each person states what they would like to earn. If the total amount of all wishes exceeds what the company can pay out, the gross salary is calculated in proportion to the wish.
Campaigns and communication
However, our projects are actually at the heart of what we do, even if we rarely talk about them.

06/2009 Foundation of N.E.S.T. Social Media Agentur UG
04/2010 Wigwam is organizing the first reCampaign together with Oxfam Germany as part of re:publica: the conference for (the best) online campaigns.
02/2013 Transformation into Wigwam GmbH
01/2015 Wigwam takes over a former betting office and turns it into an event and meeting place: the Wettbureau.
08/2016 Transformation to Wigwam Genossenschaft (eG). The company is now owned by 19 members. The General Assembly elects the first Management Board and Supervisory Board.
11/2016 Wigwam wins the Politics Award for the best political campaign in 2016 with its campaign for the state elections of the Green Party in Baden-Württemberg.
06/2017 The first Wigwam Summer Academy takes place in Bad Belzig.
06/2019 We celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Zigwam".
03/2020 Wigwam switches completely to remote working due to the corona pandemic, described in the annual review.
03/2021 Wigwam renews its corporate design.
04/2021 The WDR documentary "Money or life: In search of a fair salary" is broadcast. Among other things, it traces the creation and development of the desired salary model in the Wigwam.
06/2021 Wigwam launches the event series "Betting on the future".
05/2022 We are closing the betting office.
11/2022 The biggest campaign in Wigwam history is launched with UBSKM and the BMfSFJ with "Don't push the thought away". The aim is to better protect children from sexual abuse.
01/2023 We introduce OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) in the Wigwam.
04/2023 After three years of working from home, we organize the first office week and all meet live in the office. From now on, this will take place at least twice a year and will entice everyone out to celebrate our community more often in direct contact.
05/2023 Betting on the future #5: Images of the future - A workout for the imagination.
07/2023 The Annual General Meeting elects the new Executive Board and Supervisory Board.
02/2024 Wigwam has been undergoing an internal organizational development process that is critical of racism for the past year.
04/2024 We launch our new website for Organizational Development and advice with Wigwam eG.
05/2024 The Annual General Meeting elects the new Executive Board and Supervisory Board.
09/2024 reCampaign #9 as rC24 - "The Conference for Progressive Alliances", in cooperation with the Initiative offene Gesellschaft, will finally take place again in Silent Green after a 6-year break! Among others with: Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Campact, NABU, Ecosia, Oxfam, Wikimedia, innn.it , more onion, openPetition.
